About GameSpecsDB
GameSpecsDB is an independent reference for Nintendo Switch 2 owners who want quick, sourced answers before they buy or download a game: how much space it needs, whether the box has the full game on the cartridge or only a Game-Key Card, and how it runs on the TV and in handheld mode.
The site started from a simple problem. The Switch 2 has 256 GB of internal storage, many physical releases do not contain the game, and the answers were spread across store pages, press releases and forum threads. GameSpecsDB puts them on one page per game, with the source next to each figure.
Who runs it
GameSpecsDB is built and maintained by Daniel del Moral Hernández, a software developer based in Tarazona, Spain. He is responsible for the code and the content, and every fact the update scripts cannot confirm on their own goes to a review list instead of being published automatically.
Where the data comes from
- File sizes, prices, languages and player counts come from the official US Nintendo eShop listing of each game.
- Cartridge formats (full cartridge, Game-Key Card, code in a box or digital only) come from publisher announcements and the box art, cross-checked with Nintendo Life and Nintendo Everything.
- Performance (resolution and frame rate) comes from official announcements and independent technical analyses such as Digital Foundry. When a figure is a reviewer's estimate rather than a measurement, the page says so.
Every figure links to its source and shows the date it was last checked. When a fact is not confirmed, the page says "Unknown" instead of guessing.
How often it is updated
- Every day, an update script checks the eShop for upcoming and recently released games and for new Switch 2 listings.
- Every Monday, it re-checks every game in the database, because patches change file sizes after launch.
- Twice a week, a fuller review adds new cartridge formats and performance tests and goes through anything the script flagged.
Sizes for games that are not out yet come from the pre-release store listing. They are marked as estimates, because the final size often changes with the day-one patch.
Corrections
Found a wrong number or a newer source? Write to [email protected] with the game and, if you can, a link. Confirmed corrections are published within a few days, and the page's "checked" date is updated so you can see when it changed.
Independence and advertising
GameSpecsDB is free to use and is funded by advertising. Publishers do not pay to be listed, and ads never change what a page says about a game.
GameSpecsDB is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Nintendo. Nintendo Switch 2 is a trademark of Nintendo.
