Assassin's Creed Shadows on Switch 2: file size, cartridge and performance

Game-Key CardUp to 30 FPS

Assassin's Creed Shadows is one of the biggest games on Switch 2: at 69 GB it uses more than a quarter of the console's 256 GB. The physical version is a Game-Key Card, so the cartridge does not save any space; you still download the full game. On Switch 2 it runs at 30 FPS in both modes, at about 648p docked and about 480p handheld, upscaled with DLSS. Frame rate dips in dense areas such as Kyoto, and handheld play holds up better because it uses VRR to smooth those drops. It launched on December 2, 2025, at $59.99. If you play mostly on a TV and own a PS5 or PC, those versions look clearly sharper.
