Game Builder Garage on Switch 2: free upgrade and file size
Game Builder Garage is Nintendo's 2021 programming game, and its free Switch 2 update (version 1.1.0, June 2025) adds Joy-Con 2 mouse controls for up to eight Joy-Con 2 controllers, which makes placing and wiring Nodons much quicker than with sticks. A single USB mouse still works too. Nintendo also optimized the visuals for the Switch 2 screen and high-resolution TVs. One caveat from Nintendo's patch notes: because Switch 2 processes faster, some games made on the original Switch may behave differently. At 1.0 GB it is tiny to install, and the Switch 1 cartridge holds the full game and works in a Switch 2.
